BLOWERS AND FANS
Industrial Air Blowers – Since 2016, KDS Windsor has proudly partnered with The New York Blower Company (NYB) for all of our industrial air blowers. In 2018, we officially became part of the NYB family. We have seen a significant performance increase, 10% or better, compared to previous manufacturers. This has helped the KDS Windsor product line perform at even greater production rates and have lumber-dried quality than ever before. NYB industrial air blowers are included with every new installation. Not only have we seen a performance increase in the new installations, but we have completed many field retrofits, and all of our customers have seen and reported the same significant performance increase compared to the incumbent blowers.
KDS Windsor is a complete supplier of NYB industrial air blowers for all lumber drying applications. We specialize in designing recirculation air systems, combustion blower applications, fresh air injection wet-bulb control, and vapor extraction modules. We are the lumber drying industry’s subject matter experts on how to design, size, and operate air systems to maximize performance on new and existing kiln equipment.
As previously stated, we have completed a number of blower retrofits and upgrades. We can provide complete bolt-in replacements and field-measure difficult-to-replace components, including wheels, cones, shafts, and more. Complete airflow, vibration, and consultation services are available for industrial air blowers of any manufacturer.
Fan Systems – KDS Windsor fan systems are designed with low-loss Gates Polychain timing belts and sheaves for efficient use of horsepower. The fan system’s internal SKF spherical bearings are lubricated via stainless steel grease lines from either the internal or external catwalk. Our typical kiln design utilizes Smithco hub and blades; the angles are set during commissioning to achieve the required airflow and heat transfer into the lumber through the sticker openings with optimum power usage efficiency. Precise pitch setting is achieved using a proprietary pitch setting tool developed by KDS Windsor and can be sold separately.
BAFFLES
Our proprietary self-lifting stainless steel baffles provide the tightest seal and are designed to raise automatically as the lumber is pushed in, and ride along the top of the load as well as spring loaded split aluminum vertical baffles.
KILN DOORS
Custom heavy-duty aluminum kiln doors can be made to fit any manufacturers kiln. Conversion from carrier to barn style doors available.
HEATING COILS
We can supply full bolt in ready replacement heating coil assemblies, individual fin tubes, or complete custom heat coil system replacement.
THERMOCOUPLES
We offer all sizes of thermocouples and RTDs, compatible with KDS Windsor kilns and competitors’ kilns.
BURNER GRATES
We provide the highest quality machined cast iron burner grates for KDS Windsor burners and most competitors’. All grate holes are CNC machined for accuracy, rather than cast into the piece. All grates are made in the U.S.A.
