Assembly Associate – Full Time – Hendersonville, NC
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (with mandatory overtime)
Pay:
$20/hour, paid weekly
We’re hiring dependable Assembly Associates to join our team. This is a hands-on, full-time position for individuals with experience in metal and/or wood assembly.

Qualifications:
- Ability to read measurements with a tape measure.
- A minimum of 1 year of specific experience and/or training with metal and/or wood assembly is required.
- 1 year or more of specific experience and/or training related to the essential functions of the job; or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Experience with power tools, including the use of a drill, grinder, rivet gun, and nail gun.
- Forklift experience.
- Forklift certification is considered a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Requirements:
- Excellent ability to read and adhere to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, and squat.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to transport, secure, install, build, load/unload materials.
- Ability to clean/remove hazardous or obsolete materials.
- Must pass a pre-employment company background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- S. Work Authorization.

Field Service Engineer - Full Time - Southeast
Field Service Engineer (FSE)
Location: Southeastern U.S. (Field-Based)
Travel Requirement: 50% or more
KDS Windsor, a leader in lumber dry kiln manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) to lead the commissioning, optimization, and servicing of our industrial equipment. This role requires a strong technical background and offers opportunities to provide project management, engineering support, and product development feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning: Lead startup, testing, and calibration of large-scale industrial systems such as kilns, conveyors, fans, and hydraulic pushers.
- Project Management: Act as the on-site liaison between contractors, clients, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of all project scopes.
- System Optimization: Evaluate and improve the performance of existing systems, providing technical recommendations through detailed reports.
- Training & Support: Train client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Product Development: Provide feedback from field experience to help drive continuous product improvement.
- Documentation: Develop project manuals and assemble OEM documentation for clients.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols on job sites and ensure adherence to regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in field service, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance (millwrights or HVAC technicians with relevant experience encouraged to apply).
- Willingness to travel (50%+), including overnight and weekend assignments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical expertise.
- Proficiency with hand tools, motor controls, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with industrial automation, PLC systems, and heat plant operations.
- Knowledge of sawmill processes, wet/dry bulb temperatures, and material handling systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Expertise in diagnostic tools (multimeters, megohm meters, etc.).

- Salary Range: $75,000 – $100,000 (based on education and experience).

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the commissioning of lumber dry kilns and material handling systems.
- Start and calibrate pneumatic and mechanical equipment, such as blowers, metering bins, fuel hoppers, and conveyors.
- Work with and assist site superintendents and millwrights on system installation and setup.
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Provide on-site technical support to clients under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Maintain proper documentation and prepare reports on site conditions and progress.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance (factory or processing plant environment).
- Willingness to travel (50%+), including overnight and weekend assignments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic electrical controls.
- Ability to work in hot environments and confined spaces.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Skills:
- Recent graduates in Mechatronics or Electrical Technology are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with material handling systems, wet/dry bulb temperature systems, or diagnostic tools (multimeters, ammeters, etc.).
- Familiarity with PLC systems or automation is a plus.
